Duplication is Key to MLM Success

Think about that headline for a moment. Would you rather be re-inventing the wheel, and asking your new recruits to do the same, or would you rather join a Network Marketing opportunity under someone who can teach you a successful method for marketing it?

Very few of us are born sales people. In fact, many of us outright do not like the idea of selling, and avoid it. The same goes for business. Many people just have no idea how to run a business, and will shy away from your opportunity for that reason alone. Having an easily duplicated system for marketing and managing your opportunity solves both those problems.

The key to success in any downline is the "method", and how easily it is duplicated. After all, the program expects if not requires your upline to coach you, and you, in turn, are expected to coach others. The simplest and most effective way for this to happen is to have a method that all or most members of your downline can easily implement, follow, and teach.

Primarily, you need a recruitment method, and a product sales method. They could revolve around face-to-face presentations, email advertising, pay-per-click search engine advertising, or advertising in ezines, but there has to be a basic method, or you're just spinning your wheels, and teaching your downline to do the same.

Some years ago, I became interested in real estate, and took several home study courses on how to invest in real estate. One thing that always stuck with me from that training was the idea of having a "cookie cutter" approach. What the author meant by that was to learn a couple of methods, refine them, and then do basically the same thing over and over again. That's exactly what you need to do in MLM.

Your financial success in MLM rests primarily with the ability of your downline to sell products and recruit new members. It is in your best interest, and theirs, that you learn an easily duplicated method that you can teach them. As you and your new recruits become more expert, improvisation will creep in, and that's as it should be. But especially for newcomers, you need a simple method they can follow and achieve some results with, or you'll lose them. It's that simple.

After all, who do you think is joining your opportunity? Not only are most of your new recruits not internet marketing gurus, many of them are relatively new to the internet, and to sales. You need to keep that in mind when dealing with them.

So where is this easily duplicated method going to come from? If you're lucky enough to have a real expert as your Sponsor or Team Leader, much of it should come from them. You can also buy some good, high quality Network Marketing courses online, and there are several membership sites available that offer solid, generic MLM training. If you're serious about this business, you need to think about investing a few hundred dollars in education to prepare yourself to do well at it.

In the long run, it will pay off handsomely, not only in your own recruiting and product sales, but also in your ability to mentor your new recruits, adding to their success, and yours.
