Webmaster Tools

These web master tools will help you to get your internet business off to a great start, or improve the quality and productivity of an existing web site.

You won't find many dozens of products on these pages, because we have deliberately confined ourselves to listing only those products and services that we consider to be the "best of the best". If we wouldn't use it ourselves, then we won't suggest it to you.

HTML Editors. Want to create a web site of your own? It's easier than you might think, and you can even get an "all in one" package that gives you online site building with NO knowledge of HTML needed. Many people start with or prefer mini-sites. We'll show you an inexpensive software package that will have you up and running in a flash. For larger sites, you probably will need a traditional editor. We'll even point you to a couple of free websites where you can learn basic to advanced HTML online.

Utilities. Make your own web site safer with these privacy protection utilities. Protect your affiliate commissions, keep your email address visible to visitors but immune to being "snatched" by an email harvester and added to a spam database. Check out our information on "spyware", which is the newest threat to all web surfers, but can be dealt with.

Hosting. You can find free site hosting, but watch out, you often "get what you pay for". Good hosting is available at very modest cost, unless you're running a very large, high traffic site. Check inside for good deals from well-regarded hosting companies.

Search Engine Secrets Improve your ranking with the search engines through website optimization. Some people do it manually, but if you don't have the time to learn what it takes, you can buy software that will do most of the work for you. We found two such products that are well thought of by many. We'll also point you to some of the best e-books, articles and web sites devoted to the subject, if you want a quick education on this very complex and constantly evolving subject.

Quality Linking. can be a source of potential visitors and customers, but is also increasingly important in how it affects your ranking with the search engines. Which sites link to yours is your primary concern, of course, but did it occur to you to check up on your competitors, and see who is linking to them?

Traffic Generation. The heart of any online business is targetted visitors to its site. Targetted visitors are people who are interested in what your site has to offer. Here are some ways you can build traffic to your site, including several programs you can join. Keep in mind though, you also get targetted visitors from the search engines, your links, and your emails.

E-Mail. A must have for most site owners, but there are several high quality programs out there, for free. They're here, along with some software you should consider once you get into the "big leagues".

Autoresponders. Like having your own secretary to answer most of your incoming e-mail, and even follow up with your hottest prospects at a later date. Most experts wil tell you that maintaining e-mail contact with your prospects and previous customers is the key to internet marketing. An autoresponder will make the process largely automatic, and we have several available here. Some give a month or longer "free trial offer". For only a few more dollars per month, you can also subscribe to a service that provides product delivery, bulk e-mail and newsletter capability, and sophisticated database maintenance all in one package, along with autoresponders.
